7 Crushable Women Behind Bars

  • Katie-Nelson
Katie Nelson is no schlub next to Derek Brown at The Columbia Room. This single lady can make a serious cocktail, and play the ukulele! Perhaps both at the same time. Try one of her fruit shrubs made with fruit and vinegar, and ask her about her bees. What to order: On the Fence, with aquavit, rye whiskey, Peychaud’s bitters, and fresh apple cider.
  • Jessica Ryan
Over at Cuba Libre, Jessica Ryan is the Rain Man of drinks, remembering your face and drink after just one visit. Take that, Dustin Hoffman! At 29, this professional esthetician and makeup artist is single and looking. What to order: The mango and ginger martini, with Cuba Libre white rum, mango purée, mango ginger-infused guarapo, garnished with a skewer of dried mango and candied ginger.
  • Julia-Bukstein
Julia Bukstein is a very good reason to visit Agora. This 24-year-old experienced mixologist is a fireball of energy. Can you keep up with her? What to order: The Fig Delight with fig-infused silver tequila, home-made sour mix, fresh lime juice, triple sec and agave nectar, shaken with dried figs and garnished with lime zest.
  • Jaclyn Beasley
The darling of Potomac’s Founding Farmers, 25-year-old Jackie Beasley is known for being outgoing, her beautiful smile and kick-ass drinks, of course. Ask her about her chef’s garden. What to order: Bee’s Knees with organic gin, honey syrup from Founding Farmers’ bees, and fresh lemon juice, which we sampledhere.
  • Gina-Chersevani
Queen bee Gina Chersevani of Hanks Oyster Bar, the Eddy, and the new Buffalo and Bergen is single, “old enough to own a business and young enough to enjoy it!” We love how she combines all four food groups into delicious, satisfying drinks. Away from the bar, she’s a avid painter. Did you know that? What to order: The Forgetfully, Fernet, a frozen Jameson slushie with lemon and ginger and finished with a shot of Fernet Branca and garnished with a mint leaf. Photo: Washington Post.
  • Chantal-Tseng
Classically trained Chantal Tseng of The Tabard Inn is 34, married to Derek Brown, and loves to incorporate tea and sherry into her drinks. Sitting at her bar is like stepping back into the 20′s. Classy lady, classy drinks. What to order: The Tabard Cocktail with Milagro reposado tequila, Amontillado sherry, Drambuie, orange bitters, garnished with orange peel and a fresh thyme sprig.
  • Elli-Benchimol
Elli Benchimol of Adour at the St. Regis Hotel, is 35 years, married, and mom to two kids. She loves food, wine and spirits, which is why she’s a sommelier/mixologist who will get you $%#@-ed up. She’s obsessed with absinthe, so naturally, that’s what you should ask her for. What to order: classic absinthe cocktails like Death in the Afternoon and Corpse Reviver. here’s been buzz about sexy female bartenders in DC, but we’re not shallow. Just like the Miss America pageant, we tout brains, beauty, talent as well as waist-high bikinis.  Our follow-up to immensely popular 10 Crushable Men proves once again, without a shadow of a doubt, that everyone has eyes.

If you’re going with the sexy theme, stay with the sexy theme. a couple of these girls, though great bartenders, perhaps, are not sexy. you have a much deeper well from which to pick many female bartenders that are much sexier than a couple of these girls. wtf. let down.

Actually, this article is not just about “being sexy,” but female bartenders who are beautiful, intelligent as well as talented in what they do. Women do not have to bare their cleavage to be considered attractive. I stand by my choices.

I somewhat agree with Joseph. Your theme started with “sexy female bartenders” but also with “brains, beauty, talent as well as waist-high bikinis”, a theme you chose, not us. If your theme is people (based on all those qualifications, including the sexy and the beauty) we would have a crush on and some readers inform you that they wouldn’t have a crush on them, it’s perhaps not automatically our fault. No need to accuse us of only wanting cleavage (Joseph said nothing about that). It’s you who are presenting them as being attractive and sexy, and on some of them we can respectively disagree.

Leave it to one man, who is visually motivated, to miss the point of this awesome Pretty Marinated article. Women are often judged by what the media portrays as “ideal” looks. Terribly superficial. People of character don’t judge a book by its cover and leave room for beauty to be held in the eye of the beholder. Regardless of all the trite phrases that easily apply to this trite response, one of my favorite sayings, “Smart is sexier than sexy is sexy.” Beauty, talent and intelligence trumps one person’s opinion to the content of this article. I’d not only buy a drink from any one of these ladies, but would also find getting better acquainted with each person quite interesting.

I don’t know about some of the picks, but I have been to Cuba Libre and Jessica was physically stunning and very personable. I was equally impressed with my ‘Pirate mojito?’
