I was warned. It would be a lot of food. So methodical as I am, I decided to head off a food coma by ordering a lunch-sized portion of the crispy shrimp and ribs combo at Dallas BBQ.
Is that what they call a half a rack, stretched all the way across my plate?! Add yellow rice and cornbread, and I was looking at my dining companion from behind a mountain of food. Would I have to use a sugar packet to send smoke signals?
Do people come here for the quality, or the quantity? The ribs remind me of Friday’s or Tony Roma’s. The fried shrimp were slightly overdone. The cornbread was moist and fluffy while the yellow rice was firm and chewy but tasty. Would I come to Dallas BBQ again? If I was preparing to play Margaret Cho.
