Galli LES Impresses With New 15-Item Brunch Menu

If there’s one thing that New Yorkers know how to do right, it’s eat a freakin’ awesome brunch. Oh, how we live for the perfectly wonderful, lazy weekends, when even the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple slows down long enough to have a refreshing mid-afternoon cocktail, a hot cup o’ Jo and a scrumptious plate of buttery pastries. (And that’s just the first round.)

There’s no arguing about it: New York brunch is a sacred tradition in itself, which is why we love the new brunch menu at Galli LES. Inspired by old family recipes, Executive Chef and owner Steven Gallo’s 15-item brunch menu is cozy and decadent, complete with a knock-out cocktail menu that’s worth the trip alone.

The Breakfast Bucatini, $15, is undoubtedly the star menu item (also Chef Gallo’s personal fave) and a creamy-pasta-lover’s dream come true: bucatini pasta in a Romano-infused cream cheese sauce, topped with a brunch staple fried egg (and bacon, if you want it). All that ooey-gooey deliciousness is almost too good to handle at 12:00 pm on a Saturday, but then again…no it’s not. Because classic Italian brunch, like Chef Gallo says, is just about a few key things.

“Espresso. Espresso. Espresso. Maybe add some eggs and pasta.”

One (or two) glasses of Galli’s signature Lili’s Curve, and we promise you’ll forget all about the hell that is New York winter and be transported to the warm beaches of a land far, far away from here. We didn’t know a concoction of blanco tequila, lime, pepper, simple syrup, and fresh strawberries could be so utterly divine, but take our word here: It. So. Is.

“Our customers have been asking for a long time for us to create that same vibe and quality ingredients,” Chef Gallo says. ” It actually has been in the works for over three years, but it all came together at our LES spot.

Galli LES is located at 98 Rivington Street, corner of Ludlow in Manhattan, and brunch hours are Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.
