First Look at Church & State

n the greatest example of omnipotence, this bar offers indulgence and forgiveness, all in one place.  Owner Erik Holzherr actually raided a church to furnish his new bar Church & State.

Located above Fruit Bat, Church & State is dark, small and brings you to your knees.  Much like a confessional.  Yeah, about that.

The “Bill of Rights” lists ten classic cocktails of American origin, such as Martinis with gin or vodka, Gin Rickeys, Dacquiris and Aviators.

Enjoy a Jack Rose by the large, flower stained-glass window in the front of the bar.  The altar, if you will. Or take a seat on any number of wooden pews.

Enjoy a Mint Julep in the Pastor’s Study (you can even wear the Pastor’s robe), or take your Sazerac into the confessional. Just don’t spill it on your way out.
