id you know that spätzle means “little sparrow” in German?  Aptly named, these graceful little dumplings look like adorable little songbirds, and have the texture and taste of soft dumplings and egg pasta.

The coq au vin et spaetzles ($19.95) at Et Voilà! makes a hearty, filling and beautiful supper of chicken braised in red wine until it just falls off the bone, served with carrots, pearl onions, mushrooms and bacon in that dark, rich coq au vin sauce.  With a side of Alsatian spaetzle made fresh in-house.

With a menu of colorful and authentic dishes from Chef Claudio Pirollo’s home country of Belgium, including Belgian chocolate cocktails, Et Voilà! is a little known secret in the Palisades neighborhood.  But maybe not for long…
