ot just oozing out of pies anymore, blueberries are now appearing on your meat!  Once used in Italy to keep meat, blueberries are certainly a more creative preservative than salt.  Parachutes, Lamborghinis, heliocentrism–what will the Italians think of next?!

The signature filetto al mirtillo ($29)–that’s right, blueberry steak–made the original Acqua Al 2 location in Florence, Italy famous.  Now Acqua Al 2 brings its creative, stylish Tuscan cuisine and cozy ambiance to Eastern Market.

A juicy, hand-carved filet mignon is topped with a warm, ever-so-subtly-sweet blueberry sauce.  It’s balanced by the tartness of balsamic and savoriness of steak.  There will be blue juice everywhere.  You’ve been warned.

Mandatory must-tries: Lush, cream-filled burrata with seasonal figs, grilled peaches or tomatoes; assaggio di dolci ($10)--four house-made desserts including panna cotta, chocolate espresso cake and a cheesecake that is so ethereal, you just might blow.
