Open Kitchen’s Lobster Bread Pudding

It’s a bistro, it’s a commercial kitchen, it’s a wine boutique, it’s Open Kitchen!

This hybrid space with an incredible outdoor patio overlooking Route 7 is a great place to dine, cook and shop.

We’re all about the dining part.

Open Kitchen is farm-to-table Midwestern American cooking using fresh, local and sustainable ingredients.

One humble yet spectacular offering on the menu is the lobster bread pudding ($15) with sweet corn purée and snow pea tendrils.

Hot, bubbling and brown on top, soft, fluffy and eggy on the inside, it’s filled with generous chunks of fragrant, sweet lobster.  This is indulgent comfort food at its finest.

Other mandatory must-tries: seared spice-crusted jumbo sea scallops ($26), PEI steamed mussels ($15), crisp roasted “smart chicken” ($24), and white chocolate sun-dried cherry bread pudding ($8).

The wine boutique stocks 20-30 wines and can order any special wines by request.  There are also classes you can take to learn about mushroom foraging, cooking with beer, healthy seafood recipes and more.  Download a class schedule here.
