[dropcap]V[/dropcap]in de Chez, the new pop-up venture from Chef Tom Madrecki and Liz Bird launched September 29 in the Union Kitchen parking lot of all places. Despite the somewhat gritty setting, the place is charming with its long, heavily French wine list and modern menu.
Featuring seating for roughly 40 people, the communal tables and low key setting make for a lovely afternoon stop on your way back from Union Market. Try the scallop and the garden greens for a light snack and then split a few bottles of vino and people watch. Vin de Chez runs on select Sundays during warm months, weather-permitting, and its next go will be on October 20. Make reservations to guarantee yourself a seat.
